If It Takes a Valley
Brian Free & Assurance
Verse 1 There's been times when I've believed Your approval / Means a life that's free from pain. / Yet how many saints I know about have served You / Without any earthly gain. / In their suffering they discovered your sufficiency / And maybe sacrifice is where your sweetest blessings wait for me. Chorus If it takes a valley to really know your grace / Or if it's in the desert where I'll meet you face to face / Then turn the path I'm traveling to some dark and lonely place / Cause if it's in the valley, then a valley's what I'll take. Verse2 Have I mentioned that I'm clinging to Your promise / That I'm safe within Your will / have I told You how it feels to face the enemy / and know You are greater still / Guess I had to walk through danger Lord so You could show / The way You'd cover me with mercy and You'd never let me go. Chorus If it takes a valley to really know your grace / Or if it's in the desert where I'll meet you face to face / Then turn the path I'm traveling to some dark and lonely place / Cause if it's in the valley, then a valley's what I'll take. I'm not saying circumstances never cause me fear / I'm just believing there is a purpose and even when it isn't clear / If it takes a valley to really to really know your grace / Or if it's in the desert I'll meet you face to face Chorus If it takes a valley to really know your grace / Or if it's in the desert where I'll meet you face to face / Then turn the path I'm traveling to some dark and lonely place / Cause if it's in the valley, then a valley's what I'll take. If it takes a valley, if it takes a valley, if it takes a valley, then a valley's what I'll take.
