Go Show John

Mark Trammell Quartet

Lyrics

John The Baptist was in prison for the word that he had preached, The Kingdom is at hand' he had declared And he'd begun to wonder if the time had truly come What with the Romans still in power everywhere He heard the words of Christ and sent disciples to inquire Are you the one to come as we have read Or might there come another who will occupy the thrown They listened to the words that Jesus said Go show John the things I've done The blind can see, the lame now run The lepers cleansed the Dead live again I'm the preacher, I'm the prophet I'm the long awaited King Now that's enough to build your faith upon What you've seen and what you've heard Go Show John Now we all have our days when we are overcome with doubt Like a prison where it seems there's no escape I don't think God minds if we just let out feelings out And be honest with the Lord and have our say He knows in just a moment, every chain is bound to fall And we'll be full of faith and walking free Looking back on all the times that I had heard him softly call Those things he said to John he said to me Go show John the things I've done The blind can see, the lame now run The lepers cleansed the Dead live again I'm the preacher, I'm the prophet I'm the long awaited King Now that's enough to build your faith upon What you've seen and what you've heard Go Show John
