He Gave
Browders
Verse 1 He gave sight to a blind man Begging by the road He gave food to the hungry Fed them fish and loaves He gave living water to a thirsty soul in need He gave up all of heaven To give to you and me Chorus He gave his back As the lashing whip came down He gave his brow To the thorns that made his crown He gave his hands To the ones that drove the nails And on that rugged tree He gave his life to me Verse 2 He gave peace to the fearful In a storm one night He gave rest to the weary Called them to his side He gave light in darkness to a world that was so lost He gave to please his father He fully paid the cost Chorus He gave his back As the lashing whip came down He gave his brow To the thorns that made his crown He gave his hands To the ones that drove the nails And on that rugged tree He gave his life to me So I'll cherish the old, rugged cross Chorus He gave his back As the lashing whip came down He gave his brow To the thorns that made his crown He gave his hands To the ones that drove the nails And on that rugged tree He gave his life to me And on that rugged tree He gave His life to me Gave His life to me Yes, on that rugged tree He gave His life to me
