That's Why We Pray

Brian Free & Assurance

Lyrics

To be thankful for the blessings of the day To be grateful for the food and hands that made To acknowledge only one deserves our praise That's why we pray To feel joy that goes beyond our circumstance To know power that's outside these human hands To be filled with love for each and every man That's why we pray, hallelujah We need healing we need hope We need comfort in our soul We need a shelter though the storms of life that rage Keep us safe, Lord help us stand In the hallow of your hand Be our rescue God, we need your saving grace That's why we pray For the wisdom to discern the wrong from right To gain strength when we're weary from the fight To find peace here in the chaos of the night That's why we pray, hallelujah We need healing we need hope We need comfort in our soul We need a shelter though the storms of life that rage Keep us safe, Lord help us stand In the hallow of your hand Be our rescue God, we need your saving grace That's why we pray To conquer addiction, to guide the physician Just for your protection, Oh Lord we're crying out to you To handle the battle, to quiet the rattle Whatever the matter is, Father you know what to do To walk into the presence of the King To lay down our struggles and all our defeat To find forgiveness here before the mercy seat That's Why We pray
