Heroes
Kenny Marks
Here's to our unsung heroes The people behind every scene Who toil for years And oil the gears Of some celebrated machine A song to the unsung heroes Unrecognized by the rest Who quietly serve And go unobserved While other ones give second-best You're a hero, not for the glory You're a hero, not for the rush You're the hero of an untold story Not for applause, you did it because A man's got to do what he must Here's to our unsung heroes The givers who takers forget The guardians of right Who work out of sight To who each of us owe a debt A song to the unsung heroes The ones to whom so much is due The silent brigade The unseen parade Of heroes that nobody knew You're a hero, not for the glory You're a hero, not for the rush You're the hero of an untold story Not for applause, you did it because A man's got to do what he must The Eyes of heaven Know you've been faithful to the call You think you ain't done nothin' But obedience is all You're a hero, not for the glory You're a hero, not for the rush You're the hero of an untold story Not for applause, you did it because A man's got to do what he must (You're a hero) You're a hero, not for the rush You're the hero of an untold story Not for applause, you did it because A man's got to do what he must (Hero) Not for applause, you did it because A man's got to do what he must
